Most electrical problems give a warning first. A breaker that keeps tripping, an outlet that stopped working or a light that flickers all have a cause, and finding it is the job.

Common repairs

Safety inspections

A safety inspection is a full look at the panel, wiring, outlets and grounding. It makes sense before buying an older home, after storm or water damage, or when something simply seems wrong.

When to stop and call

Burning smells, heat at a panel or outlet, and repeated shocks are not wait-and-see problems. Turn the circuit off if you can do it safely, and call us. If you see smoke or flames, leave the house and call 911.

Quick answers

Why does my breaker keep tripping?

Usually an overloaded circuit, a short or a ground fault, or a worn breaker. If it trips again after a reset, leave it off and have it checked.

Is a burning smell from an outlet an emergency?

Yes. Turn off that circuit at the breaker if you can do it safely and stop using the outlet. If you see smoke or flames, leave the house and call 911.

What does an electrical safety inspection cover?

A licensed electrician checks the panel, wiring, outlets and grounding for hazards and code problems, then tells you what needs attention. It is useful when buying an older home or after storm damage.
