Can a ceiling fan go where a light is now?
Usually, but the box has to be rated for a fan. A standard light box may not hold the weight or the movement.
Do I need a permit to add an outlet?
Adding a new outlet or circuit where there was not one generally needs a permit. Replacing an outlet in the same spot generally does not.
Can you add outdoor outlets or lights?
